Jo is our current Chairman and she has been involved in the local BSJA committee for over 10 years. She is a BS UK level 2 Course Designer and when she’s not building for our local competitions, you will find her competing her own horse – Cor De Caretino aka “Tino” at events. Jo also likes to take her horse to compete in the UK when she is able to do so.
Helen has been involved with the club since competing as a child on ponies. When she moved onto horses in Senior classes she represented Jersey many times as Captain in team competitions in Jersey, Guernsey and the UK. She currently holds the position of Vice Chairman and her main role is the coordination of helpers duties for the events we run.
Angela has been involved with BSJA Jersey since the 1980s when her children were competing. She went on to join the committee in 1987 where she has held the position of Chairman twice. Angela is currently BSJA Jersey Vice Chairman. An active member of the association she enjoys being involved with the club and has seen many beneficial changes over the years.
Rose has been a club member, competed in events and served on the Committee for many years. Formerly Show Secretary, Rose is now club Treasurer and is always happy to help out wherever needed on competition days. Rose particularly enjoys seeing children progress from nervous tots into confident riders as they move up through the classes.
Zoe is local and is married with one daughter who also rides and show jumps. Her daughter is in her final year in Junior classes. Zoe likes to keep active and her hobbies include cycling and holidays (when permitting). She joined the BSJA committee in 2018 and is currently the club’s secretary. She also covers some show secretary slots at events.
Clare has been a member of the BSJA since she joined us in 1994 and has been a member of the committee for the past 4 years. Clare is responsible for the administration of the annual memberships and both the horse and pony registrations. Clare is a very approachable member who’s always happy to help with whatever needs doing at events.
Steph arrived in Jersey 14 years ago with her horse mad daughter who had ridden in PoloX in Zimbabwe. Her daughter continued to ride for a few more years and through Angela Mitchell Steph was introduced to BSJA. Steph spends many hours sorting entries and class lists on show days and says she is happy to help out because of the help and assistance both her and her daughter received.
